BAG FAILURE REVERSED :-)

IT IS VERY PRETTY NOW!! YAYYYYYYYYYYY!

After lovingly abusing this bag with my hands in a bowl of hot and soapy water, it felted a bit further, lost more color and got really monochromatic - but now I actually like it! I learned a valuable lesson, not to be so narrow minded and to be open for surprises. Sometimes the unexpected outcome is more beautiful and more satisfactory than what we had planned - I guess this can be applied to many life situations.

Anyway - I knitted a square from the little wool I had left, felted it by hand and cut out the flower pieces. This ornament added a lot to the design and the two little circles completed the job. I strengthened the crocheted handle by sewing a strip of webbing to its inside, and I lined the bag with a wonderful English wool fabric, the kind they make suits from it - the small piece I had left was exactly enough! A lovely inside pocket makes the bag more practical. As a matter of fact, it could be easily turned inside out and used that way too - yes I guess I will add a button to the lining for the flap!

The bag is quite roomy, about square, 15" to 15" inches with a 2" gusset and bottom (38cm to 38cm to 5cm). I would like to sell it to a woman who will love and appreciate it - if you are that person, please contact me. :-)

יעלי, יצא לך תיק עם אופי. כזה שעבר כל מיני דברים בחיים והצליח להיות יפה בפני עצמו. אם היינו נפגשות בפייסבוק היית מקבלת "לייק":)

You SEE!!! I was right. It *was* just a matter of time! And the results are glorious...not what you had originally planned perhaps, but this is glorious and you have become enriched by the struggle and the process. Well done, Yael. How many different ways can one person inspire so many??

The bag is so nice with soft monochromatic color and lovely design. We learn from our failures or mistakes, and indeed, without failures we don’t progress. I like your attitude to be experimental, to do with trails and errors. You must be proud of your outcome, Yael, and I’m happy for you.
