TRUST

We went to the movies yesterday evening and saw the film "Trust". I am still haunted by it, mostly because I know I can not say: Oh it's just a movie! The plot is about a 14 years old girl who has been victimized by an adult man posing as a teenager on a chat room. Sadly those things shown there happen very often in the real world. I think every parent should consider to watch this movie, in order to learn and be able to prevent as much as possible. Especially if you have girls, go and check this film out.

Scary thougth indeed. We installed 'parental control' on our kids computers when they where younger. But you never can control everything.

This is a universal phenomena that has been grappled with by artists over the generations, and centuries. It is really scary how the electronic age has increased abuse exponentially. Yesterday I saw a great documentation on the Austrian artist, Gottfried Helnwein, who photographs and paints images, especially of younger people, who have been victemized by violence. His work is very beautiful, scary and gets into your brain. Thanks for the movie tip, Yael!

In our school district, they show films like this to the kids a few times per year which I think is such a good thing because not every family discusses these difficult topics. Such a hard movie to watch, but so important.
