I think there are many ways to get inspired. An idea may come in the shower, or at a concert, perhaps in a dream, in the wee hours of dawn, while reading, or talking to a friend or a stranger, from a movie scene, a walk in the city, a night sky... Most definitely NATURE is very inspirational. The view of a particular landscape may trigger a great artwork or a creative craft.
Flowering spring meadows did it lately for me. After seeing the outburst of greens and flowers at the Jordan Valley some weeks ago, and the colorful carpets covering the hills of the Golan Heights, I remembered a basket full of treasures I had for a long time. There were pieces of old lace, short cuts of flower ribbons, tiny remnants of woven fabric from Peru and Guatemala, and small scraps of Bedouin and other embroidery with flower motives. So I made lovely pouches, each one different and each one with some kind of flowers on it, embellished with lace and ribbons, and adorned with a beaded zipper pull, and real leather grips.
