THE HEALING POWER OF FABRIC

Some years ago, feeling very sad and lonely after a lost friendship my daughter Tanja one afternoon looked at my fabric stack. The beautiful colors whispered to her, come on, come on....
A little light came into her eyes and she started cutting and fusing...
She was busy for two days and began to smile...
And then I did the sewing for her...
This lovely little wall hanging is gracing a wall in her apartment today and reminds her, that there is always sun after the rain...

Hi Mom, this little quilt hangs in my bedroom above my bed. I still like it very much and it looks like new. The wall color of my bedroom is now sand-yellow, so there is a very nice contrast to the nighttime theme of the wall hanging. While looking at it nowadays it seems that I have made a picture of a little forest village at autumn - as the trees have a lot of different colors.
Thank you for sewing it for me! Love you!

Such a constructive way to process sadness and such a beautiful tapestry to result. Tapping into creativity at those peak emotional times is such a smart thing to do. It's a lesson for all of us.

How beautiful! I find when I am the most lost, the greatest things happen in the creativity bank...
