The pomegranate bushes and trees growing wild in abundance along the coastline of the beautiful Kotor bay in Montenegro are a wonderful symbol for Rosh HaShana!
May you have a good sweet year, blessed with health and joy and peace! Shana tova!
Of course I had to take some of those lovelies home! They are very small and hard like stones - not the variety for eating. BUT - aren't they pretty?
Photographs by Uri Eshkar.
yael,YES, they are beauties...in the photos the seeds next to the stems look like jewels! i would have to do the same, tell me if they change over time, drying more :). i am partial to pomegranites and in december they are in season here in calif. looks like such a lovely and gorgeous time you are having! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated by the colours--and I didn't know there were so many kinds of pomegranates!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad for the winter season, because I so love this fruit...and your blog!
Hi Yael, my mom used to have similar pomegranates growing in her garden - she always had a bowl full in the house for decoration. She still collects grasses and leaves, there is always some fun and interesting display in her home.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful pictures! The Pomegranate is such a pretty fruit.
ReplyDeleteI too didn't know about the hard pomegranates. Neat!
ReplyDeleteThank you and Uri for always zooming into the picture to show us the virtually microscopic beauty of things.
Shanah Tovah!!
They are absolutely beautiful, Yael! They would make nice seasonal/autumnal decorations. I too did not know about the hard pomegranates.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and the scenery :)
Blessings on the new year to you and your family!
