  4. I have two hibiscus, and this looks like one, but I'm missing the huge stamen. Is it a hibiscus?

  6. Liebe Yael,

ich hätte auch auf einen Hibiskus getippt. Aber Du hast ja schon geschrieben, dass es keiner ist. Ist es denn etwas, dass es auch bei uns gibt?

    Liebe Grüße

  11. No, sorry Gaby, no Datura either... Nothing in common with Datura - not family, not genus, not order, not tribe...

  12. I too thought about Datura at first... but you say it is not... And no Hibiscus either...

The flower is absolutely beautiful! I have a feeling I have seen it before, but no name comes to me.
Just a quick guess: could it be a variety of Althea?

You are making us very very curious here :-D

  13. No, no, no Althea, no not the marshmallow plant...
But Althea and Hibiscus and this flower are of the same order... :-)

Come on ladies, you SHOULD know this flower - it brings you sooooo much pleasure in life! :-)

  14. ...Portia tree (Thespesia)??...

  15. This is of the same order too - but no Hilde, it is not a Portia tree - but yes, the flower of it also looks a bit similar... And the Portia tree is of many uses - but since now, as far as I know, it did not bring pleasure to me personally...
